Buildings & structural systems

New construction

Analysis and design for commercial, residential, institutional, healthcare, industrial, and mixed-use structures.

Alterations & additions

Structural evaluation and design for remodels, additions, rehabilitation, and changes to existing structural systems.

Coordination & review

Integrated building design using Revit and shared BIM information, structural review, and construction administration.

Foundations & lateral systems

Moment frames, braced frames, shear walls, deep foundations and piles, retaining walls, and earth-supporting structures.

Materials & construction

  • Structural steel and light-gauge steel
  • Cast-in-place, precast, prestressed, and post-tensioned concrete
  • Tilt-up concrete and masonry
  • Wood and timber; adobe masonry
  • FRP and CFRP strengthening systems
  • Aluminum, fiberglass, and glass
  • Fabric, tensile, and air-supported structures

Analysis matched to the problem

Capabilities include conventional and complex 3D modeling, finite-element analysis, linear elastic static and dynamic analysis, response-spectrum and time-history methods, nonlinear pushover, and nonlinear dynamic analysis. The analytical approach depends on the structural system and assignment.

  • Special and intermediate steel and concrete moment frames
  • Concentrically and eccentrically braced frames
  • Buckling-restrained braced frames and viscous dampers
  • Concrete, masonry, and plywood shear walls
